Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia arranged the certificate-granting ceremony for the participants passing training and labour skill standard test in Thai chef course according to the project on labour skill development held on 22 April 2011. It was honorably presided over by Thai Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur (H.E.Mr. Tana Duangrat).
The training and labour skill standard test held between 19-22 April 2011,offers the Thai food cooking course to the owners of restaurant and Thai chef in Malaysia with the aim to promote and extend labour market for restaurant business to be more popular in Malaysia. There were totally 41 participants. Those who passed the test would receive the certificate on labour skill standard level1. In this regard, Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia has been provided the instructors and committee for the test from Pattani Vocational College and Skill Development Institution Area 12 in Songkla Province. In the certificate-granting ceremony, Thai Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur sermonized to the graduates and expressed his appreciation for the accomplishment of the project which would help promote capacity of Thai workers in Malaysia to bring knowledge gaining from the course to apply with their career. He hopes this course would be arranged continually. Later in the same day, there was a souvenir granting ceremony to the sponsors of the project and then taking a group picture. On this occasion, the director of the Skill Development Institution Area 12, Songkla (Mrs. Chayada Sakulwong) came to facilitate and join the opening ceremony as well.
Mrs. Paranyuu Boonchit, one of the participants, expressed thankfulness to Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia for arranging such a useful project. He has learned new techniques from the competent instructors. He has been working as chef at his sister’s restaurant for over a year. This course could guarantee his capacity making him more confident in working, he said.
