On January 12, 2013, the Tom Yum Thai Club and the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur jointly held a ceremony of the National Children’s Day for 2013 aimed at raising awareness about the importance of children and youths.

On January 12, 2013, the Tom Yum Thai Club and the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur jointly held a ceremony of the National Children’s Day for 2013 aimed at raising awareness about the importance of children and youths.

 

The event, the first of its kind, was presided over by Mr. Krit Kraijitti, Thai Ambassador to Malaysia, and was also attended by the embassy’s officials. It was held at Nang Kam restaurant in Kampong Baru area.

 

In line with this year Children’s Day motto “Uphold Discipline, Enhance Knowledge and Bring Thailand towards ASEAN”, the event provided platform for children to creatively express themselves and develop their moral and ethics. They could also learn to be responsible and disciplined, which will help foster strength of the nation.

 

Fun games and activities were held for participating parents and children and the atmosphere at the event was lively and joyful.

 

On the occasion, Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia, led by Ms. Pataraporn Samantarath, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs), Ms. Sopis Mudpongtua, Counsellor (Labour Affairs), presented gifts, food and dessert to the children and jointly sang songs with them.

 

It was a successful event that did not just only entertain children and other participants, but also help foster relations among government officials and local Thai people.
