Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia visited Thai workers in Lenggeng

   On 2 July 2010, Mr. Singhadej Chu-amnart, Minister Counselor (Labour) in collaborated with Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, visited Thai workers in Lenggeng Detention Center in Neguree, Sembilun in order to examine their traveling documents before sending them back to Thailand. On the occasion of H.M. the Queen’s birthday celebration, Malaysian government will send 200 detained Thai workers in Detention Centre throughout Malaysia back to Thailand.
            According to his inspection visit, it was found that 34 Thais are in the list of being sent back to Thailand divided into 14 males and 20 females (2 are minors). Most of them were arrested on charge of entry into Malaysia without authorization and obtaining no work permit (Tomyum restaurant and fishery). All of them will be sent back on 8 August 2010. In this regard, the Office of Labour Affairs has coordinated with The Southern Border Province Administration Center- SBPAC) and Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand to render assistance to those people in terms of seeking for a job as appropriation.
