On 24-28 August 2011, Office of Labour Affairs in Riyadh went to call on Thai workers in Al Khobar, the significant port and industrial centre located 400 km. away from Riyadh. There are Thai workers working as carpet layer man, cooler maintenance technician, trailer driver and tailor. On this occasion, Office of Labour Affairs in Riyadh also gave muzzles to those workers so as to play on holidays. After in the same day, they went to Bahrain in order to pay courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Vichai Varasirikul, Ambassador at Manama and reported the employment situation of Thai worker in Bahrain mostly working in service sector, beautician and spa sector, bellboy, and Thai restaurant as well as construction sector. Most of them came to work in person. The wage rate in Bahrain is about 130 Dinar or equivalent to 10,400 Baht/month for service sector and 180 Dinar or equivalent to 14,400 Baht/ month for construction sector which is not high when compares with wage rate in Thailand.
