Office of Labour Affairs in Singapore in collaboration with Thai labour fellowship in Singapore, and labour volunteers in Singapore have annually arranged labour football cup since 2001 This 12th competition arranged as the objective to promote Thai labours working in Singapore to spend their free time with playing football for their healthy and spirit and harmony.
This year’s competition has 20 teams joined composing of special team from Sukhothai Thammathirat University’s student club and Thai labour volunteers in Singapore club, football teams sent by companies and individual teams totally 18 teams and 16 football players.
The opening ceremony commenced on 1 July 2012, honorably presided over by Vice Minister of Labour (Mr. Anusorn Kraiwatnussorn) and high executives of MOL. The competition has been weekly arranged for totally 5 weeks running to the finale on 29 July 2012. There are totally 29 matches and at least 200 participants who are football players, Thai labours and officials in each match with 400 participants in finale, totally 1,200 participants.
The opening and awarding ceremony were hold after the finale on 29 July 2012 honorably presided over by H.E. Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Thai Ambassador to Singapore.
