On 9 September 203, President Ma Ying-Jeou welcomed the group of representatives of Chong Hua Chinese Association in Thailand. President Ma stated that Taiwan and Thailand had strong relationship which could be seen from trade value between Thailand and Taiwan last year that reached 10,2000 million US Dollar. Taiwan made an investment in Thailand for 13,200 million US Dollar that ranked third among other top raking countries like Japan and United State.  Meanwhile, Thailand is ranked 14th among trade partners, 10th in export market and 17th in import market of Taiwan respectively. In addition, tourism improvement of Thailand is considered to be the role model for Taiwan that President Ma expected to have collaboration in tourism sector in order to strengthen good relationship of both countries in the future.
