Authorities of Office of Labour Affairs in Singapore on February 19 visited Thai workers while working on the Jurong Island after receiving complaints from them about payment and welfare given by Thai Woo Ree Engineering Co., Ltd. They had held talks with senior executives of the Thai-South Korean joint venture company about the complaints of the Thai workers but no malpractice against the workers was found.
Following the discussions, the authorities talked to the workers and explained them the terms of the employment contract.
