On 17 February, 2012 Officials from Labour Office of the Thai Royal Embassy at Tel Aviv went to visit Thai workers at Moshav Tsofit located at the midland of Israel in Drom Ha Sharon Regional Council which is home to approximately 890 people.
According to the visit, those Thai workers have worked for Mr. Oly who is strawberry farmer as well as carrot, and cassava and hires 26 Thai male workers and 4 female workers. These workers informed that they had to start working from 06.00 to 14.00 and overtime until 18.00; however, it would extend to 19.30 if there was the need to speed up the harvest. Each worker would receive monthly incomes of approximately 5,000 Shekel before the deduction and had monthly food expenses around 300 Shekel which was enable each worker to send money approximately 2,500-3,000 Shekels a month back to home. In addition, the employer provides accommodation on a sharing basis; 1 bedroom for 2-3 workers and 5 washing machines. Moreover, the employer pays the salary on time with the receipt and those workers would spend their free time by playing sport game in the summer.
Before leaving, the officials had provided these workers sport equipment such as rattan balls with the net, footballs, badmintons with the net, and the flags as moral support.
