The Permanent Secretary of Labour commended Bangchak Corporation PCL for employing people with disabilities to work, helping to raise the quality of life of people with disabilities to have stability in their careers and reduce social inequality.
On January 27, 2022, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, congratulated the ten people with disabilities who were considered for work at Bangchak Corporation PCL. He said that the government led by Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha gives importance to solving the country’s economic and social issues. It aims to upgrade the quality of life, increase employment and generate income, create fairness and reduce inequality as well as focusing on issues of equality and social security for people at risk or vulnerable groups by using the civil state mechanism to drive the administration of the state affairs in the work that connects the public, the private and the people’s sectors. At present, the government has given more importance to the philosophy of human security, especially to develop the capacity and empowerment of these people to stand on their own. It also aims to accelerate the development and improvement of conditions related to social services and other services provided by the government to be more flexible and conducive to these socially disadvantaged groups, including increasing social space for civil society and the private sector to participate in the development of the potential of such groups.
The Permanent Secretary of Labour added that socially disadvantaged people, especially people with disabilities, are a group to which the Ministry of Labour has given great importance. It has provided support and created opportunities in various fields to live in a stable society. They need to live with dignity and equality, like most of the country. Today is the day that Bangchak Corporation PCL has responded to the government’s policy to raise the quality of life of people with disabilities to have career stability and reduce social inequality by giving people with disabilities the opportunity to become part of the organization.
“I am confident that all people with disabilities today will be able to show their potential to all sectors to see that people with disabilities have the ability to create work in their duties with efficiency and maximum effectiveness for the organization,” concluded Mr. Boonchob.
Bangchak Corporation PCL has prioritized and promoted employees and the employment of people with disabilities since 2018. It currently employs ten people with disabilities as permanent employees, comprising three males and seven females, working at levels one and two of the organization. They cover various fields, comprising accounting and finance groups, organizational management and capacity development, business marketing, and the refinery and oil trading business.
