The occasion occurred at the Sangsingkaew meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. He said that to be a good mentor, one must be willing to share. This duty is a sacrifice, taking care and giving suggestions on what to do and not to do to get the job done. In addition, there must be an understanding and expertise in the work performed. Mentors must have the skills and expertise to answer questions and convey through good human relations to create trust, acceptance, respect, and openness between each other. This makes the work transfer smooth, and success becomes easier.
Mr. Boonchob added that mentors should also have good step-by-step communication skills. They should use a language that is easy to understand, appropriate, and able to convey responsibility in their work and perform duties to their best. Mentors should know how to assess the situation, plan work and have skills to solve problems promptly. They also need to have good decisions, be a leader, and listen to and accept the opinions of others. Furthermore, they should be able to provide various proposals, allowing the mentors to express their opinions and make suggestions. They should be able to give encouragement and make an impression on working together to cultivate a good mentor in the future.
“Please take care of the new generation of civil servants to the best of your ability to grow up to be effective civil servants in the future. Thank you to all the mentors of government officials. Please focus on doing your duty to the fullest and take responsibility for what you intend to accomplish. In the future, I believe that the things that everyone intends to do today will result in everyone’s progress in their work,” concluded the Permanent Secretary of Labour.
