Permanent Secretary of Labour Joins Ceremony to Release Operation Team to “Find, Catch, Fine, and Push” to Crack Down on Illegal Migrant Workers

 On June 5, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, joined the ceremony to present policies and release a line of officials inspecting the work of migrant workers for the 2024 fiscal year at the Phra Phuttha Sutthithambophit area at the Ministry of Labour’s building. The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the ceremony. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-Generals, Mr. Nantachai Panyasurarit, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, Mr. Sompot Kwangkaew, Ms. Bunyawee Khaipan, Mrs. Marasri Jairangsi, Mr. Santi Nantasuwan, the Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Sakdinart Sonthisakyotin, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, representatives from the Immigration Bureau, Tourist Police Headquarters, Human Trafficking Suppression Division, and the Bangkok Internal Security Operations Command also joined in honour of the ceremony.

     The relevant agencies participating in the ceremony included the Department of Employment, whereby 85 officials of the Central Employment Registration and Workers Protection Division, the Metropolitan Provincial Employment Office, the Bangkok Employment Offices, Areas 1 – 10, and 45 officers from the Immigration Office, the Tourist Police Headquarters, the Human Trafficking Suppression Division and the Internal Security Operations Command Bangkok, joined, for a total of 130 officers.

     In this regard, officials from the Department of Employment stationed at Provincial Employment Offices in every province nationwide will attend the ceremony to receive the policy simultaneously. The event will be broadcast live on Facebook by the Department of Employment. As soon as the policy is delivered, personnel will carry out operations to inspect the work of migrant workers and employers/establishments in unison.
