Content Description

On May 28, 2024, at 10.30 hours (local time in Israel), the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, joined the delegation of the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, to meet and visit Thai workers and inquire about their working lives and well-being on farms. They also visited the fruit market and flower shop in Hesilia.

The workers all said that they were well taken care of by their employers. The Labour Minister observed that the farm owners that the Ministry of Labour’s delegation visited showed love and respect to the Thai workers, taking good care of their safety. They also had a safe room for workers to take refuge in case they heard a siren and had rehearsals of how to behave in the event of an emergency. The Israeli government praised the Thai workers for being skilled in their work and loving their families. When they complete their employment contracts, they will return to their home country and will not continue to be illegally employed as an illegal worker. As a result, Thai workers are in demand from both employers and the Israeli government.

In addition, the delegation gave away Somdej Thongchai amulets and amulets to Thai workers as morale and encouragement.
