On March 2, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, to pay a visit to encourage and give money to Thai workers returning from Ukraine, who are members of the fund to help job seekers work abroad, totaling 69 people. The visit took place at the Quarantine Center Building, Bamrasnaradura Institute, Tiwanon Road, Talat Khwan Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province. The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, the Department of Employment’s Director-General Pairoj Chotiksetian and the Ministry of Labour’s senior executives also joined the occasion.
Mr. Boonchob said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan are concerned for all Thai people and workers affected by the events in Ukraine. The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, was instructed to take the best care of all Thai workers. He received a report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that yesterday (March 1, 2022), the first group of 38 Thai people, including 21 members of the fund to help job seekers work abroad, departed Bucharest on Thai Airways Flight TG 923 and arrived in Thailand at 06.25 hours today. The second batch of 58 Thais, including 48 members of the fund, traveled by Emirates Airline flight EK 384 from Warsaw and arrived in Thailand at 12.05 hours today. The Labour Minister assigned him to give money to Thai workers returning from Ukraine, who are members of the fund to help job seekers to work abroad, amounting to 69 people. The aid is 15,000 Baht each, totaling 1,035,000 Baht.
The Department of Employment’s Director-General Pairoj Chotiksetian said the Department of Employment arranged for registration desk staff to receive requests and facilitate care in terms of the process, documents and evidence, including explaining the benefits from the fund to Thai workers. In addition, the Suvarnabhumi Job Seekers Checkpoint has arranged staff to facilitate workers from the plane to the bus station of the Department of Land Transport to travel to the Bamrasnaradura Institute for COVID-19 testing (RT-PCR). If workers test positive, they will be admitted to Bamrasnaradura Institute. But if the result is negative, they can take the Test & Go measure and return home immediately.
