Content Description

On May 30, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, to encourage 213 Thai workers before working in the agricultural sector in Israel under the Thailand-Israel Cooperation on the Placement of Workers (TIC). Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Pairoj Chotiksetian, the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General Ms. Bunyawee Khuaphan, and Mr. Santi Nantasuwan, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion at the training room for job seekers before traveling to work abroad, 11th floor, Bangkok Social Security Office Area 3. Mr. Boonchob revealed that Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gives great importance to Thai workers traveling to work abroad. They are considered a hero amid the Covid-19 pandemic and have brought in income from abroad into the Thai economy. In 2022, workers have contributed 82,506 million Baht in income back into the country. The deployment of Thai workers to work in Israel is another country where the Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, have no concerns. They are delighted that Thai workers work well, have the skills and responsibility, and are sought after by employers. There is a growing need for employment in Israel even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I ask that all workers remain diligent and work with intention. Do not get involved with drugs and gambling, and strictly abide by the Israeli contracts and laws. Please think about saving and the future of yourself and your family. Also, take into account the reputation of the nation. When traveling back, you can contribute your income, knowledge, and experience as an investment in yourself. If the employer takes advantage of you, or if you help, the Labour Department at the embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, is ready to support you. Have a safe trip tomorrow,” concluded the Permanent Secretary of Labour.

The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Pairoj Chotiksetia, said that the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment had deployed 2,562 Thai workers to Israel in 2022 from January 2 to May 28, 2022. Today was the training for job seekers before they travel to work. A total of 213 workers will travel on May 31, 2022. Eighty people will travel on Al Israel Airlines, flight numbers LY 082, and Etihad Airways, flight numbers EY407 and EY598 with 123 people. In June, the Department of Employment plans to deliver workers once a week for 800 people throughout the month. Thai workers will receive a minimum pre-tax salary of 5,300 Shekels per month, or approximately 53,981 Baht (depending on the exchange rate).
“In this regard, those interested in working abroad can follow the news of the recruitment announcement on www.doe.go.th/overseas. They can ask for more details at all Provincial Employment Offices, the Bangkok Employment Office Area 1-10 or the Ministry of Labour’s hotline, call 1506 press 2 for the Department of Employment or call the Department of Employment’s hotline on 1694,” concluded the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General.
