PM Instructs Labour Minister to Open Covid-19 Screening Center at the Thai-Japan Center Soon

            On July 8, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that, with the ongoing Covid-19 situation and rising number of infections, the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned for the workforce and the general public. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office has worked with the Ministry of Interior, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and the Ministry of Public Health by the National Health Security Office (NHSO) to operate Covid-19 screenings for workers, self-employed people, and the general, at the West Sports Building 1, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan), Din Daeng District, Bangkok, which will be available soon.
          Mr. Suchart added that the opening of the Covid-19 screening point this time aims to help insured persons, informal workers, and the general public suffering from Covid-19 testing receive timely assistance through other channels. In the case of infection and symptoms, they will be sent to a hospital in the social security network. Those diagnosed with no symptoms or are in the yellow level according to the criteria set by the Ministry of Public Health will be sent to a social security Hospitel with a team of doctors and nurses taking care of them.
          The Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office will expedite discussions with relevant agencies to determine the details of providing Covid-19 screening services as soon as possible so that the people have access to Covid-19 screening. If they are found to be infected, they will be for treatment immediately.
