On March 30, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin joined bilateral discussions following an invitation by Dr. Abdulrahman Addulmannan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization. The discussions were on cooperation to expand the Thai labour market in the United Arab Emirates at the North Hall Dubai Exhibition Center. The discussion followed the Labour Minister and delegation’s visit to the United Arab Emirates between December 6 to 11, 2021. They paid a visit to Dr. Abdulrahman Addulmannan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, on the occasion of taking on a new position on December 8, 2021, which took place at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. During the discussions, the two countries negotiated the exchange of information on the demand for jobs (Demand) and labor force (Supply) of Thailand for delivery at the soonest.
Mr. Suchart said that the Thai government by Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, assigned him as a representative of the Thai government and the Ministry of Labour, to have bilateral discussions with the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization of the United Arab Emirates, on labour issues and the exchange of information on the progress in cooperation. The discussions were when the Labour Minister and his delegation attended the 8th World Government Summit in Dubai. He said that on behalf of the government and the Ministry of Labour of Thailand, he thanked the United Arab Emirates for taking good care of Thai workers. The Thai workers who have the opportunity to work in the United Arab Emirates will be able to develop their skills and generate income for themselves and their families. He said that Thai workers are workers accepted by UAE employers, especially in business sectors such as massage/spa and Thai cuisine. This country has a high demand for foreign workers in many sectors, especially in fields where Thai workers are accepted. The discussions are another important step in exchanging information and cooperation between the two countries to maintain the same labour market and expand the new market of Thai workers who will continue to work in the United Arab Emirates.
