PM Shows Concern About the Explosion of the Foam Production Factory in King Kaew and Instructs Labour Minister to Visit Fire Prevention and Mitigation Center and Support Injured People at Bang Phli and Samut Prakarn Hospitals

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned for the workforce and all people injured from the fire at Ming Dih Chemical Co., Ltd., which operates a large-scale foam and plastic business. The company is located at Soi King Kaew 21, Bang Phli Yai, Bang Phli, Samut Prakan. The Labour Minister was therefore assigned to visit the area on his behalf. He visited the Fire Prevention and Mitigation Center and supported workers and people injured in the explosion at Bang Phli Hospital and Samut Prakan Hospital. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, Director of Bang Phli Hospital Dr. Pichet Phuongkichcharoen, the Social Security Office’s Secretary General Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion.
          Mr. Suchart spoke about the assistance of agencies under the Ministry of Labour. The Social Security Office will check the injured person’s status in receiving medical treatment according to their benefits for medical treatment and other rights that they should receive. The Department of Employment shall prepare to find positions to support workers if the employer cannot continue employing employees. The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare has assigned the Center for Safety at Work Area 10 and the Samut Prakan Labour Protection and Welfare Office to investigate the incident. Agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Samut Prakan will coordinate assistance to pay benefits to all injured insured persons.
