On November 12, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to visit the area to give benefits to compensate for the lack of income of 2,400 Baht per month for life and compensation for the insured persons under Section 39 of 10,000 Baht. The compensation was provided to Ms. Busakorn Charoenchai, 48 years old, a Section 39 insured person who is disabled and handicapped from being blind in both eyes. The visit took place at the insured person’s home near Wat Chaloem Phrakiat Soi 10, Bang Si Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province. The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, and the Social Security Office’s Spokesperson Ms. Ladda Saelee also joined the occasion. Mrs. Thiwalrat said that for Ms. Busakorn’s case, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office received complaints through the “Rueng Tee Khun Tong Roo” program via the radio station of Thailand on October 28. She had said that she was a disabled person, blind in both eyes, and had the status of an insured person under Section 39. She was entitled to receiving compensation from the government but could not link her PromptPay account to receive compensation because she was a person who the court had ordered as bankrupt. As soon as she heard the news, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense General Prayut Chan-ocha showed concern about the workers and entrepreneurs who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He ordered the Social Security Office to visit the area to help the insured person receive compensation from the government. Ms. Ladda Saelee, the spokesperson for the Social Security Office, visited Ms. Busakorn’s house to assist, fill out the information for receiving compensation, and submit documents as a person with disabilities to consider paying compensation.
The spokesperson and staff from the Social Security Office visited the home of Section 39 insured person who was blind in both eyes in Nonthaburi Province. The goal of the visit was to provide benefits to compensate for lack of income and compensation to insured persons under Section 39 from the government to help relieve the burden and alleviate suffering. Ms. Busakorn, who is blind, has been a voluntary insured person under Section 39 since December 15, 2017. She underwent surgery on both eyes in 2012-2013, and her symptoms of blurry vision did not improve after surgery. From the doctor’s diagnosis, both eyes cannot see ominously. The Social Security Office approved her as a person with disabilities on October 28, 2021.
