On November 30, 2018, Labour Minister, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo visited Kraisorn Farm in Chiang Wang, Phen, Udon Thani, alongside the ministry’s executive officials. Kraisorn Farm is owned by Mr. Kraisorn Nakorntham, 37, residing at 11/1 Moo 2, Chiang Wang, Phen District, Udon Thani. Mr. Kraison graduated from Grade 6 from Ban Krang Luang School. He said that after being drafted for the army and as his home was relatively poor, he decided to work abroad at Tien Yuen Machinery, a Taiwanese employer in the steel production industry. He worked in Taiwan for around 3 years, earning about TWD 15,840 or about 16,934 Baht. When he returned, he ordained as a monk for 1 year and then applied for work in South Korea through the EPS system. After passing the exam, he was selected to work with Sameuntekeu, a company in the electronics assembly industry, earning KRW 700,600 or 20,500 Baht. He worked with this employer for 3 years.
Mr. Kraisorn said that after returning from South Korea, he used his earnings to buy a pickup truck, invested in clothes to sell the market and used some money to grow palm on his wife’s land. As his earnings from working abroad have begun to lessen, he decided to go overseas again, applying to work with Israeli employer Plan Nursery in Bitzaron in the agricultural sector, earning 4,100 Shekels or about 36,305 Baht. He worked here for about 3 years then returned to Thailand. He used his earnings to invest in more palm plantation and purchased a tractor to plow. He closed the businesses called Kraisorn Plantation which sold fertilizer and bought palm from the villagers to sell in Sakon Nakhon.
Mr. Kraisorn said that while working abroad, he worked hard to save money to build in Thailand. Now, the palm that he planted can be harvested twice a month, for around 500 – 600 kilograms. The average monthly income is between 30,000 and 40,000 Baht and property earned from working abroad include two houses, two cars, one backhoe, and one tractor
