The Labour Minister visited Nong Khai to the Baan Rai Chompu of workers who had worked in South Korea, and brought the knowledge to adapt to agricultural work, in line with King Rama IX’s sustainable economy philosophy, for success. The Labour Minister also met with leaders of the government in Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu and Bueng Kan with emphasis on the 3A policy to integrate agencies to drive the Ministry’s work into concrete action.
On October 25, 2018, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo visited Baan Rai Chompu in Nong Khai situated in Ban Khok Phatthana, Moo 10, Na Nang, Phon Phisai, Nong Khai. The farm belongs to Mr. Ittichet Chompu, aged 35, who used to work in South Korea, who used acquired knowledge to his success. Mr. Ittichet said that he had applied for work in South Korea which was facilitated by the government, with the life goal and motivation to save money to improve his and his family’s life. Within 4 years and 7 months he was able to save 700,000 Baht and thus decided to use the money to invest in an agricultural career upholding the royal sustainable economy philosophy by planning to allocate appropriate farming areas by himself.
Mr. Ittichet mentioned that what he received from working in South Korea was diligence, concentration and tolerance to deal with high competition from workers from other nationalities. He said he had to race against time and learn to use machinery safety, Mr. Ittichet gave a message to Thai workers to ensure legality when working abroad, as if found in violation, workers risk imprisonment and will be classed as illegal workers which will make it difficult to find work in the future.
Pol.Gen. Adul then chaired the meeting to present policies and operational guidelines to heads of government agencies in Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu and Bueng Kan which took place at the Nong Khai Social Security Office’s meeting room. He emphasized the work of the Ministry of Labor under focused policies in 2019, which consists of agenda based policies, area based policies and administration based policies., whereby provincial workforces would be the main stakeholder in forming the action plan to analyze labour situations in the area. This would be done in collaboration with relevant units in driving plans to concrete actions, in unity. This would provide employment, skills, government protection, security, suitable benefits and compensation, and social security to the people. Furthermore, he emphasized the convenience for the people in contacting government agencies, paying particular attention to service so that visitors are impressed and experience convenient services.
Finally, the Labour Minister presented compensation benefits to 4 beneficiaries totaling 183,080.70 Baht and awarded 5 outstanding labour volunteers for contributions to social security work, as motivation for the labour volunteers.
