“Pol.Gen. Adul” Kicks Off “Pracharat Ruam Palang; Making Young Workers 2019” Project in Preparation of Student Employment for 23,000 Positions During Term Break

           On January 28, 2019, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo presided over the “Pracharat Ruam Palang; Making Young Workers 2019” project launch, along with Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the ministry’s executives to witness the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the promotion of employment for students during school holidays or vacations. The “Pracharat Ruam Palang; Making Young Workers 2019” project is a collaboration between the Department of Employment, Department of Skill Development, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Social Security Office, Office of the Basic Education Commission, Office of the Vocational Education Commission, Office of the Higher Education Commission, Department of Local Administration and 21 establishments. The meeting took place at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Conference Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.

 


        The Labour Minister said that the project was a cooperation between the government, private sector and civil society. The Department of Employment will provide labour market information services, accept applications for students seeking work opportunities, coordinate with workplaces to consider employment and give advice to establishments. The Department of Skill Development will provide skill development opportunities during study time, in preparation for work. The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare will provide knowledge on occupational safety, health and working environment, including protection in the workplace, following the law, while the Social Security Office will protect the legal rights and benefits. The Office of the Basic Education Commission, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission and the Office of the Higher Education Commission will publicize and prepare students wishing to work. Employers/establishments will prepare job positions and mentors to teach jobs, whereas the network of parents will support students to participate in the project. Applications will be open from February 1, 2019, onwards.
        Students interested in participating in the project can apply at the Smart Job Center at the 3-story building in front of the Ministry of Labour, Din Daeng, Bangkok, the Bangkok Office of Employment Area 1-10, and Provincial Employment Offices in every province, or call for more details at the Ministry of Labour’s 1506 hotline.
