“Pol.Gen. Adul” Organizes MOL 2019 New Year’s Gift for the People’s Happiness

            On December 17, 2018, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo gave a press conference on “Happy Thais – a 2019 New Year’s Gift from the Ministry of Labour”, a gift to the workforce, employees, employers, and the people. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the Ministry of Labour’s senior executives also joined the event at the Ministry of Labour’s ground floor.
            Pol.Gen. Adul said the Ministry of Labour had 5 New Year’s gift for the people, the concept “Happy Thais – a 2019 New Year’s Gift from the Ministry of Labour”.
            1st Gift – Happiness in mentality…extension of employee rights, from coverage of 10.5 million workplace employees, the new version will extend to cover temporary workers, government staff and employees from foundations totaling over 1 million people. Beneficiaries will reach 11.5 million people under the Workmen’s Compensation Act.
            2ndGift – Happiness at heart…civil society in the community. The Ministry of Labour by the Department of Skill Development has prepared over 14,000 technicians, plumbers, electricians, car and motorcycles mechanics and tilers from 81,962 communities to offer affordable services.             3rdGift – Happiness in health…treatment at all hospitals. Over 13 million insurers under Section 33 and Section 39 in emergency cases, can carry only one ID card and be eligible for treatment in all public and private hospitals nationwide within the first 72 hours, and annual health check-up services in workplaces shall be available nationwide.
             4th Gift – Happiness in overflow…jobs for Thai people. Over 95,000 job vacancies have been prepared comprising 50,000 jobs in the country and 45,000 overseas such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, Israel, Malaysia, and Singapore. Channels are available for contact to help workers when experiencing problems abroad. There are also benefits from the fund to help job seekers seeking work abroad who can apply through the Job Box (500 boxes) using a single ID card to find a job and Smart Job Centers at all provincial employment offices nationwide. Job seekers can use the job search service to search for vacancies and match positions in real time or use mobile applications to view job vacancies abroad (TOEA Application) and Line Job.
            5th Gift – Happiness delight…online skill development. Over 174 courses are available on YouTube such as car mechanic courses, motorcycle repair, air conditioning repair, Japanese, English, Thai cooking classes and 10 popular menus for example. The public can apply for Skills Development 40 training in over 286 curriculums supporting future industries such as robotics controllers and CNC lathe operators in the automotive industry.

            “The Ministry of Labour is offering New Year gifts to all employees, employers and the public to provide protection, ensure stability in work, access to state services, reduce social disparity and to lead to sustainable wealth in life forever,” concluded Pol.Gen. Adul.
            The event also had a health check-up services from Kasemrad Hospital, Bangkae, who organized 25 medical staffs. The event also had a mobile x-ray vehicle, health checkup tools, and laboratory to check around 100 insurers from companies under the Social Security Office Area 3 and Area 6. Health check-up services included general health check-ups, eye examinations, hearing screenings, oral health checks, laboratory tests including blood sugar, chest x-rays by the mobile vehicle, cervical cancer screenings, breast cancer screenings, medical consultations, and preliminary advice.
