“Pol.Gen. Adul” Supports BOI Investors Through Service Promotion of EEC Labour Administration Center

           The Labour Minister visited the One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS) and One-Stop Service Center (OSS) to implement the operational model of the centers for the development of services to promote the needs of the work of BOI foreign workers within the ECC and enhance the performance of the EEC Labour Administration Centre.
           On November 22, 2018, Labour Minister, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo visited the One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS) and One-Stop Service Center (OSS), together with Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the ministry’s senior executives on the 18th floor, Chamchuri Square, Phayathai Road, Pathumwan, Bangkok. The OSOS was established and commenced services in 2009 to enhance the efficiency of services provided to investors as a form of boosting Thailand’s competitiveness as a potential source of investment. The OSOS is a joint service center of many ministries and government agencies, allowing connectivity of services and facilities to investors at a single location. By 2015, the OSOS expanded its scope of services by adding a network of partner agencies to coordinate in providing advice, including both public and private sectors, from 21 agencies to 38 agencies. This was to meet the needs of the business sector and accelerate the promotion of investment in services, to enhance the role of the country becoming a center of international trade in the region as well as the investment in special economic zones.
           
         

 

 

         The OSS was established under regulations of the Office of the Prime Minister BE 2640, under the operation of the Board of Investment (BOI) to facilitate the foreigners with investments, providing services in a single location. The 3 key agencies are the BOI, Immigration Bureau and the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour, whereby services are provided during government working hours. Services provided within the center include 1. Services related to the application for investment privileges by the Board of Investment (BOI). 2. Visa services by the Immigration Bureau and 3. Work permit services by the Department of Employment under the Working of Alien Act, B.E. 2551 for foreigners under Section 12 who have been granted privileges under the Investment Promotion Act (BOI), the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand Act (IEAT) and Petroleum Act (Department of Mineral Fuels). It also issues work permits to foreigners who have the following qualifications: 1. Executive, expert or specialist working in establishments with paid-up capital of not less than 30 million Baht; 2. Attending a representative office of a foreign legal entity in the organizations with a minimum registered capital of 30 million Baht; 3. Working in a representative office of foreign entities in international trade or regional office of a multinational company; 4. Performing duties of mass media authorized by the government; 5. Research and development in science and technology; 6. A bank official who has been certified by the Bank of Thailand; 7. An information technology specialist; 8. Performing routine operations of regional offices; 9. Performing government obligations with foreign governments.
