Private Hospital Request Higher Medical Service Fee from SSO

          Today (9 May 2017) at 14.00 at the Ministry of Labour’s foyer, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonlert Teerakul represented the ministry in receiving notice from representatives of private hospitals in contract with the Social Security Office, led by association director Dr. Pongpat Patanvanich. The notice asked for the Social Security Office to consider amendment of medical expense fees. After receiving the notice, the Deputy Permanent Secretary explained that the letter would be taken into consideration by the Social Security Office’s committee. The topics in the notice included the lack of medical fee adjustments over the past 6 years, uncertainty of compensation for complex cases requiring hospital treatment and the increasing number of patients with chronic illnesses resulting in higher expenses.
