Ratiwan Suntra, Minister Counsellor (labour affairs) office of Labour Affairs in Taipei prepares for holding Songkran Festival 2014.

On 20 February 2014, Mrs. Ratiwan Suntara, Minister Counsellor (labour affairs), Miss Sadudee Kittisuwan (labour affairs) and officers of Office of Labour Affairs in Taipei attended the meeting with Mrs. Chien, Hsiu –Lien, Labour and Human Resources Division in Taoyuan mulnicipality in order to prepare for holding Songkran Festival 2014.
 

 



           

Songkran Festival 2014 will be held on Sunday 27th April 2014 at Taoyuan County Stadium which will be several activities such as buddha image procession, traditional water blessing ceremony, ranttan ball game, somtum cooking contest, Thai dancing art show, Thai and Taiwan boxer paying homage demonstration, the show of Mike Piromporn show, and Duangta Kongtong, the famous singers of folksong. In addition, there will be Thai eatery booths. It is anticipated that there would be 20,000 Thai and Taiwan workers participated the festival.
 


 

 

          Songkran Festival has been launched since 2001 and continally holding for 15 years by a collaboration of Office of Labour Affairs in Taipei and Taiwan Ministry of Labour (Council of Labour Affairs—CLA) and Taoyuan mulnicipality, Thai and Taiwan public and private agencies with the aims to open an opportunity for Thai and Taiwan workers to join Songkran festival. In addition, it could help them spending free time useful and relieve homesick as well as disseminate Thai culture and tradition to Thais in Taiwan. This festival however becomes annual traditional festival that Thai and Taiwan workers are looking forward to joining
