Today (4 April 2017) at the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare (Yaek Talingchan), Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Anurak Tossarat chaired the commencement of the project to promote understanding on enforcement of safety laws in the transportation industry and public transportation. He said that the Ministry of Labour hoped that all sectors were aware of workplace safety and shared this awareness with employees to promote a culture on safety, to reduce the number of workplace accidents and losses. He said that this was particularly relevant to public transportation and the transportation industry as the number of road accidents and losses remain significant. For this reason, he said that workplace safety awareness coupled with technological advancement and compliance with measures and regulations would improve the nation’s status on workplace safety.
The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare arranged the project on knowledge sharing enforcement of safety laws in the transportation industry and public transportation to inform business operators, employers, employees and relevant persons, facilitating an understanding on safety, hygiene and working environmental management. A total of 300 participants from transportation businesses from Baromrachachonnani, Ekamai and Chatuchak too part.
