Safety Week at Amata Nakhon

            Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul assigned advisor Dr. Arug Phrommanee to chair the commencement of the Safety Week on Workplace Safety and Hygiene at the Amata Nakhon Industrial Estate, arranged by the Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety and Health for the first time. The event will take place in collaboration with Amata Nakhon Industrial Estate, under the supervision by the Ministry of Labour from 25-27 April 2017 at the industrial estate in Chon Buri. The event is also sponsored by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, Royal Thai Navy, the Amata Workplace Safety Network and Amata Corporation Public Company Limited.  
            The event will host several seminars such as “Road traffic safety management systems for improved road safety”, a special keynote address on road safety experts and a workshop to reduce the number of accidents in the industrial estate. There will also be a seminar to brainstorm organizational measures and directions on sustainable resolutions, a team contest on emergency actions such as fire extinguishing. A debate will also be held around emergency measures in the estate such as chemical leakage and fire hazards. Certificates will be presented to teams that win the contests. So far the event had gained the interest of many employees within the 800 companies throughout the estate.
            Director of TOSH Mr. Chaithana Chaimongkol, spoke about the Safety Week saying that it was initiated in correspondence with the Ministry of Labour’s policies and strategies which aim to boost safety and hygiene within organizations. It also aims to promote collaboration between executives, safety officers and employees, as well as enhance collaboration between the government, the private sector and general public.
           Committee member and president of marketing at Amata Corporation Mr. Vibhul Kromdit, said that the private sector had seen the importance of safety and hygiene for sustainable development and in creating standard safety systems which will also strengthen safety networks within industrial organizations.
