On 5 July 2017 at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti as chairperson of the Social Security Committee, explained that Mr. Manas Kosol, Director of the Employee Social Security Network and 17 member organization representatives met to discuss progress on access to medical benefits provided by the social security scheme. The representatives also submitted a proposal on promoting health and disease prevention, advising hospitals providing dental services to conduct oral examinations prior to giving services. The increased measure would promote insurers to plan for families without additional medical expenses. Suggestions also included examination for prostate cancer for male insurers and to extend the period for pension contributions. The Permanent Secretary said that all suggestions would be considered by the Ministry of Labour.
