The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and spokesperson Mr. Soothi Sukosol revealed that in the super board meeting, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul directed the establishment of a special task force center to facilitate migrant worker management. This will consist of a command, monitoring and reporting, appeals, public relations and provincial operations divisions.
Mr. Soothi said that the Labour Minister had asked for the Ministry of Labour to draft operational guidelines in alignment with NCPO command 33/2560 whereby taking into consideration the fastest approach, transparent and honest operations, the enforcement of the Foreign Worker Management Act B.E. 2560 and for all relevant units to monitor situation and provide daily reports. For migrant workers employed by employers different to that stated on their permit, corrections can be made at all provincial employment offices, the Bangkok Employment Office Area 1-10 and the foreign worker management office at the Department of Employment. As for employers with migrant workers without the necessary documents, the Labour Minister advised to wait for further instruction.
