Content Description

On August 13, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office has carried out COVID-19 vaccinations. The first dose has been given to over 1.3 million Section 33 insured persons since June 7. The working group on the management and distribution of the vaccine has prepared a vaccination center to serve Section 33 insured persons with the second dose of vaccinations, which will begin on August 16, 2021. All vaccines are AstraZeneca branded.

Mr. Suchart said that the second dose of vaccinations would start on August 16, 2021, onwards. Insured persons are divided according to the following vaccination formula. The first is (AZ+AZ), insured persons who received the first dose as AstraZeneca and will be due for the second dose within 12-16 weeks. The second dose will be the same, that is AstraZeneca. Insured persons in the Bangkok area who received the first dose from June 7 to July 21, 2021, will receive a second dose from August 16 to September 28, 2021.

The second formula (SV+AZ) is insured persons alternating vaccines. According to the resolution of the National Communicable Diseases Committee on July 12, 2021, insured persons who received the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine will receive the second dose within 3-4 weeks. All second doses are AstraZeneca brands. Insured persons in Bangkok who received their first vaccine from July 22 to August 6, 2021, will receive their second dose from August 16 to August 27, 2021. Section 33 insured persons in the five major manufacturing provinces, namely Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Sakhon, and Nakhon Pathom, who received the SV+AZ vaccine from 22 July to 13 August 2021, will receive a second dose of the AstraZeneca brand from August 16 to August 27, 2021. Section 33 insured persons in major manufacturing provinces within the EEC and Samut Prakan, vaccinated according to (SV+AZ) formula from August 2 to August 20, 2021, will receive the second dose as AstraZeneca from August 23 to September 10, 2021. The Social Security Office’s vaccination centers have been prepared throughout the Bangkok area in all 12 areas of responsibility. The centers include 26 vaccination sites, covering all five provinces. Appointment notifications will be sent via SMS to insured persons from August 11.

Mr. Suchart reiterated at the end asking that when Section 33 insured persons know their scheduled appointment, to please prepare in the same way as they did with the first dose, that is to get enough sleep, abstain from strenuous exercise, wear a shirt that is convenient for vaccinations, such as a short-sleeved shirt, and most importantly, have their (original) ID card with them on the day, and arrive on time. The effort will help to build group immunity. Those who fall in the schedule to receive the second dose as above but have not received an appointment via SMS can check the second dose schedule at the Social Security Office’s website on www.sso.go.th. If no information is found, please notify the employer or HR urgently. For any questions, contact the 1506 hotline, available 24 hours a day.
