Furthermore, President Ma gave a speech as he met excellent performing families and workers of 2015 that as of 1st  July 2015, the minimum wage in Taiwan would increase from 19,273 Taiwanese dollars to 20,008 Taiwanese dollars. This would be the fifth adjustment since President Ma Ying-jeou has been Taiwan’s leader; the increment was also the smallest so far. The Taiwanese government has pushed for labour law amendments to the pension system, so that retired workers are not required to receive the pension as a lump sum alone, but have the option of separating the sum into monthly payments which would allow workers more options to plan their pension fund too.
