On 2 April 2010, Labour Affairs of Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv visited Thai workers at Moshav Nitzinie OZ, located in Northern Israel in which there were approximately 300 Thai workers working. Most employers are engaged in and ornamental florist planting business to import and sell in the domestic market. The labour affairs met with Ms. Sukanya Sittites, new Thai worker coming to work in Israel for 1 month. She said to labour affairs that she is skilled at agriculturist since she used to work for similar job and the environments are similar with those in Thai villages. She gains income approximately 45,000 baht per month.
In addition, the labour affairs received the petition from 5 workers who work with the employer named Deaw Kadat, engaging in florist planting business, claiming that the employer delayed a payment for 4 months amounting to 500,000 baht. Labour Affairs therefore contact with the employer to make an appointment to negotiate with. If the negotiation is void, the workers would pass the case to a lawyer for further indictment.
