Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2017 Ceremony Takes Place

            Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha chaired the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2017 at the Impact Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi. The Prime Minister congratulated the awardees’ contributions to national development, whether it was investment, domestic or international business, which all contributed positively to the economy which must quickly transform to a high-income economy from its current status as a middle-income nation through total reformation. In terms of labour, industry ad business, he said would need to play a part in the government’s reform which hopes to develop the 6 regions to equal prosperity, equality and fairness. In becoming a Thailand 4.0, the Prime Minister said that the 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 workforces would need to be developed together as the heart of a Thailand 4.0. He said that the award was presented consistently every 5, 10 ad 15 years where awardees included all organizational sizes to promote SMEs and to build a cooperative enterprise community. He urged everyone to help the government care for the people in all areas and professions, helping each other to eliminate human trafficking and care for both local and foreign workers. The Ministry of Labour urged employers and businesses to care for their workforce, promoting living stability, freedom, equality and prosperity.
            Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul gave a report on the Ministry of Labour’s progress on promoting better management among organizations in terms of Thai labour standards, employee relations, welfare and occupational health, safety and environmental measures; thus the award ceremony was launched to honour outstanding organizations in these dimensions. This year, 3 trophies from Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn were presented, with one award each going to a small, medium and large organization. Another 618 trophies were also awarded to certify organizations of labour standards, good employee relations and welfare management systems and to model organizations on occupational health, safety and environment.
