Today, 28 February 2017 at 19.30, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul and Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti hosted the event to welcome Laotian Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Dr. Kampaeng Saisompang, along with Petchburi Provincial Governor Mrs. Chattaporn Rassdorndusadee and Prachuab Kiri Khan Provincial Governor Mr. Tawi Narissirikul. The event was on the occasion of signing the MOA on employment between Thailand and Laos, which will take place 28 February to 1 March 2017 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Hua Hin, Petchburi province. The MOA aims to ensure fair employment and protection of foreign worker rights from both countries, ensuring transparency starting from the workers’ entry into the kingdom up to the expiration of the employment contract and return home, ensuring the entire process is free of exploitation.
