On October 7, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the opening ceremony of the Thai People’s Empowerment Festival to Upskill and Reskill and Develop Future Labour Skills, targeting over 523,904 people in the Northeast, hoping to increase the employment rate in the region and to connect to both domestic and international markets. In this regard, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mrs. Marasri Jairangsi, to join in honour of the event. The Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, Deputy Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Mr. Supasit Korcharoenyot, MP for Ubon Ratchathani District 5, Mr. Suttichai Charoonnet, executives of the Ministry of Labour, heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Ubon Ratchathani Province, government and private sector partners joined the event at the multipurpose dome building, Trakan Phuet Phon Technical College, Trakan Phuet Phon District, Ubon Ratchathani Province.
