On July 8, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety And Health (Public Organization) or TOSH, to organize an “Emergency First Aid Basic Life Support Training” for the Ministry of Labour’s officials, including over 100 housekeepers and security guards. The initiative aims to enhance knowledge and skills in first aid in case of emergency situations. They coordinated with experts from the Safety And Health At Work Promotion Association (Thailand) under the Royal Patronage to join as a speaker.

The Labour Minister said that the Emergency First Aid Basic Life Support Training course organized by the Ministry of Labour increases the confidence of all officials of the Ministry of Labour that they can take care of each other when unexpected events occur. It also enhances the knowledge and skills necessary for first aid. This is especially important in helping people in emergency situations, such as those who stop breathing or lose consciousness, so that they receive timely support. He gave an example of an event that may happen, such as a security officer who takes care of the outdoor area, who may find someone fainting where there are symptoms of heatstroke caused by very hot weather. In such a situation, the officers will be able to provide initial support before being taken to the hospital. Therefore, this training is useful to everyone.

In the afternoon, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, the Deputy Director of the Thailand Institute Of Occupational Safety And Health (Public Organization), Mr. Bancha Srithanauthaikorn, and the Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Sakdinart Sonthisakyotin, received an automatic electronic defibrillator (AED) from Alcotech Company Limited, led by the Business and Project Development Executive, Mr. Apirat Ratthawinij, representative of the Managing Director, Khun Paphatsarin Chatsaranawat of Alcotech Company Limited, and President of the Safety And Health At Work Promotion Association (Thailand) under the Royal Patronage, Mr. Prasopchai Yuwawet. The occasion took place on the 5th floor of the Ministry of Labour.

“The Ministry of Labour would like to thank Alcotech Company Limited for providing two AED machines. In addition to supporting the Ministry of Labour officials, it will be useful to the general public who come to contact the Ministry of Labour because whenever an unexpected event occurs, such as a cardiac arrest, security personnel from the Ministry of Labour will have been trained in using this machine and provide initial support,” Mr. Phiphat said.
