Three Foundations Collaborate With MOL to Create a Digital Platform to Promote Employment for People With Disabilities

          On March 3, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed Mrs. Thaniwan Kulmongkol, President of the Thai Restaurant Association, as a consultant for social promotion activities of Yip In Tsoi Co., Ltd., Mrs. Morakot Yipintsoi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Yip In Tsoi Co., Ltd., Chairman of Truth Foundation and the Panee Yip In Soi Foundation, Mr. Supratham Mongkhonsawat, Secretary-General of the Redeemer Foundation for the Development of Persons with Disabilities, and committee, to present the Nina Ability Platform, a digital community for persons with disabilities. The meeting also discussed support and linking information on vocational training and employment of the Ministry of Labour. The occasion took place at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour. Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, the Department of Skills Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. This project is a collaboration between the Truth Foundation, the Panee Yip In Soi Foundation, and the Pattaya Redemptorist College of Technology, carried out in 2022. It aims to develop a database system for people with disabilities, designed with AI to be compatible with all types of groups of disabilities. It aims to enhance services to be fast and efficient in promoting and improving the quality of life and employment for people with disabilities.
          Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour is ready to work with the foundation following the correct procedures, especially linking to the recruitment service database with vacancies for people with disabilities. It will offer career guidance and job matching, including online career training courses, which will benefit people with disabilities to respond to government policies. Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha gives importance to allowing each agency to create opportunities and social equality, eliminating inequality, especially among people with disabilities and vulnerable groups. It targets to promote social security and the quality of life of vulnerable people, to have a better quality of life, allowing them to be self-reliant, benefitting their families, communities, and society.
          “I would like to see people with disabilities have a career, work, income, and access to benefits. When they have a job, they will show their potential to the fullest. Society will see their value. The Ministry of Labour can help by following the correct procedures. We are happy to support the benefit of people with disabilities as much as possible. The Department of Employment and the Department of Skill Development will continue to cooperate in the relevant areas,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
