Today (7 March 2017) at the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Anurak Tossarat chaired the signing of the agreement for the creation of a magazine on occupational safety, hygiene and environment, or the “OSHE Magazine” by the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University’s School of Health Science, the Promote Safety and Health at Work Foundation and the Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. In his speech, he said “Work on occupational safety, hygiene and environment is relevant to the working population in all areas. Employees are often more concerned about output and results, more than their own safety and hygiene. Us, being here together with the same goal on occupational safety, hygiene and environment is a great thing; it’s because we want the best for the workforce. Today is a significant marking of the public and private sector working together to drive initiatives on occupational safety, hygiene and environment, launching the OSHE Magazine together which will be media to share information and progress on news relevant to safety. This is a great part of learning for all relevant stakeholders.”
The publishing of the OSHE magazine is an important strategy which promotes knowledge on understanding to targeted audiences, namely executives, safety officers, employees and the public. The OSHE Magazine will be issued quarterly and free for members. It will also be published as an e-magazine which is downloadable from the TOSH’s website. The OSHE magazine is the TOSH’s first magazine, a continuation of the Journal of Occupational Safety and Hygiene which issued its last publication in December 2016. Content will be contributed by new journalists and writers, where academic work on the topic continues to develop with new innovations both in Thailand a globally. The launch of the OSHE Magazine is considered a crucial stage for safety issues.
