Two Championship Stages Commence: Qualifying the Best Young Craftsmen and the Disabled

On March 22, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, assigned Mr. Aree Krainara, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, to chair the opening ceremony of the 30th National Skills Competition and the 10th National Skills Competition for the Disabled. Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Krirkkrai Nasomyont, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Inspector-General and Acting Legal Advisor, and executives of the Ministry of Labour joined in the ceremony. Mr. Decha Pruksapatnarak, Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, reported to the Phoenix Room, Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province.

Mr. Aree Krainara, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, gave a speech after the competition. He said that the National Skills Competition and the National Skills Competition for the Disabled are missions of the Department of Skill Development under the Ministry of Labour. The competition is organized as a platform for Thai and foreign participants to showcase their skills. The 30th National Skills Competition is a platform to select youths to represent the Thai national team to participate in the 14th ASEAN Skills Competition in the Republic of the Philippines, the 3rd Asian Skills Competition in Taipei, Taiwan, and the 48th International Skills Competition in the People’s Republic of China. The younger generation is a valuable resource that must develop its skills. The skill competition is an activity that helps encourage and motivate youths to love their careers and constantly develop their skills. The National Skills Competition for the Disabled is organized to promote the development of skills for the disabled. It is an important opportunity to demonstrate the abilities and potential of the disabled, focusing on creating equality of opportunity and promoting the participation of the disabled in social and economic development. The National Skills Competition for the Disabled gathers contestants from all over the country to inspire the disabled and non-disabled people who have dreams and hopes for creating a better future.

Mr. Decha Pruksapatnarak, Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, said that both competitions had many competitors competing for excellence, with 346 youths joining the National Skills Competition, in 27 categories, divided into 5 fields as follows: Field One: Institute for the Development of Human Resources in Automatic Production and Robotics Technology (MARA), CNC Machinery (Lathe) and CNC Machinery (Milling) (March 15-20, 2025); Field Two: Institute for Skill Development 1 Samut Prakan, Automotive Paint Technology (March 22-23, 2025); Field Three: Institute for the Development of Human Resources in Welding, Welding Technology (March 22-23, 2025); Field Four: Rangsit University, Culinary Arts (March 22-23, 2025); Field Five: Impact Muang Thong Thani Exhibition and Convention Center (March 22-23, 2025); Mechatronics (Team), Computer-Aided Mechanical Engineering Drafting (Team), Mobile Robotics (Team), Dimensional Metrology (Team), Industrial Automation (Team), Tiling (Team), Electrical System Technology Branch, Bricklaying Branch, Furniture Wood Branch, Wood Corner Assembly Branch, Cooling System Technology Branch, Information Technology Branch, Web Technology Branch, Flower Arranging Branch, Fashion Technology Branch, Graphic Design Branch, Automotive Technology Branch, Food and Beverage Service Branch, Hairdressing Branch, Cyber ​​Security Branch (Team), 3D Game Modeling Branch, Elderly and Patient Care Branch, and Industry 4.0 Demonstration Branch (Team).

Mr. Decha continued that there were 139 competitors in the National Skills Competition for the Disabled, with 12 categories to be competed in. On March 22, 2025, there were six categories: web page design, print design, studio photography, embroidery, crochet, and men’s clothing tailoring. On March 23, 2025, there were six categories: basket weaving, painting, poster design, document printing with Microsoft Word, industrial design with computer programs, and knitting.

“The 30th National Skills Competition and the 10th National Skills Competition for the Disabled are stages of faith and determination of the contestants. Everyone wants to show the skills that they have trained hard in. The participants will become an inspiration for other youths and people with disabilities, giving them the power to drive forward and achieve their goals,” concluded the Director-General of the Department of Skill Development.
