นายพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน ยืนยันถึงการประกาศบิ๊กเซอร์ไพรส์ขึ้นค่าแรงขั้นต่ำ 400 บาท ว่า จากการประชุมของคณะกรรมการไตรภาคี เมื่อวันที่ 17 เมษายนที่ผ่านมา นายไพโรจน์ โชติกเสถียร ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการไตรภาคี ได้หารือกับคณะกรรมการว่า ในปีนี้จะมีการปรับขึ้นค่าแรงขั้นต่ำอีกครั้งหนึ่ง ซึ่งจากการหารือมีนโยบายทําตามนโยบายของรัฐบาล คือจะมีการขึ้นค่าแรงที่ 400 บาท โดยในวันที่ 14 พฤษภาคมนี้ จะมีการประชุมคณะกรรมการอีกครั้งหนึ่ง และคาดว่าจะประกาศในวันที่ 1 ตุลาคม ซึ่งตนเองไม่สามารถเข้าไปแทรกแซงคณะกรรมการไตรภาคี เพราะเป็นคณะกรรมการที่เป็นอิสระในการพิจารณา
“ถามว่าเราประกาศเลยได้ไหมในวันที่ 1 พฤษภาคม เราสามารถประกาศให้รับรู้ได้ว่าเราจะดำเนินการในขั้นตอนต่อไป หลังจากนำร่องไปแล้ว ตรงนี้ถือเป็นนโยบายรัฐบาลที่ต้องทําตาม จากการหารือไม่น่าจะมีอะไรที่ขัดข้อง เพราะว่าส่วนหนึ่งในเรี่องค่าใช้จ่าย หรือสิ่งของที่เป็นอุปโภค บริโภค ก็มีการขึ้นไปล่วงหน้าแล้ว หลังจากที่มีการจัดตั้งรัฐบาลเรียบร้อย ผมคิดว่าถึงเวลาแล้วที่จะมีการประกาศค่าแรงอีกครั้งหนึ่ง หลังจากที่เรามีการนําร่องในวันที่ 13 เมษายนที่ผ่านมา วันที่ 1 ตุลาคม เราสามารถประกาศได้ในภาพรวมทั้งประเทศ 400 บาทในทุกประเภทธุรกิจ”นายพิพัฒน์ กล่าว

It is expected that the announcement will be made on October 1. He said that he could not interfere with the tripartite committee as it is an independent committee that is considering the issue.
“On May 1, we can make it known that we will take the next steps after the pilot. This is considered a government policy that must be followed. Based on the discussion, there should be no objections. The cost of consumer goods has already been raised in advance. After the government has been successfully established, I think it’s time for another wage announcement. After our pilot on April 13, on October 1, we can announce the 400 Baht minimum wage for the entire country in all business categories,” Mr. Phiphat said.
